A Winning Start for Richmond Town FC U12s

Richmond Town FC U12s have kicked off their season with a win, and we’re delighted to be supporting them as their match kit sponsor through the Johnsons Giving Fund.

Every player contributed to a fantastic opening performance, giving the team plenty to celebrate and a great foundation to build on as the season gets underway. A special congratulations goes to Sammy, who was named Player of the Match. A very well-deserved recognition!

For the players, coaches and families involved, it’s a brilliant way to start the season. We’re proud to be part of their journey and look forward to cheering them on in the months ahead.

Proud to Support Grassroots Football

Grassroots football brings people together. It gives young players the chance to learn new skills, build friendships and enjoy being part of a team. Along the way, they learn to support each other, work towards shared goals and keep going when things don’t go their way.

The results are part of the excitement, but there’s much more to a season than the final scores. There’s the confidence that comes from trying something new, the satisfaction of seeing practice pay off and the feeling of belonging that comes with pulling on the same shirt as your teammates.

That’s why we were pleased to get behind Richmond Town FC U12s. Through the Johnsons Giving Fund, we’ve sponsored the team’s football kit to support them as they take to the pitch together this season.

We want young people to have opportunities to get involved, develop their confidence and enjoy their sport. Supporting grassroots clubs is one way we can help make that happen within our community.

The Johnsons Giving Fund

Henry and Megan started the Johnsons Giving Fund in 2023 as the family’s way of giving back and doing the right thing when people and communities need support.

The approach is straightforward and personal. There’s no application form and no committee. We keep an eye out for good causes, listen to the people around us and get behind opportunities where we believe we can help.

Since the fund began, we’ve given thousands of pounds to causes close to home. Each contribution reflects the same intention: to support people doing worthwhile things and play a positive part in the communities we belong to.

Sponsoring Richmond Town FC U12s is a natural extension of that commitment. It’s an opportunity to back a team of young players and recognise the effort of the people who make their football possible.

Recognising the People Behind the Team

A grassroots football team depends on much more than the players who take to the pitch. Behind every match are people giving their time, energy and encouragement to help the team thrive.

Coaches plan sessions, develop players’ skills and guide them through the highs and lows of a season. Volunteers help keep clubs running, while parents and families organise their weekends around training and fixtures, provide transport and offer support from the touchline.

That commitment creates opportunities for young people to enjoy football and grow together. Our sponsorship is also a way of recognising the dedication behind those opportunities, and we’re pleased to stand alongside everyone supporting Richmond Town FC U12s.

Looking Ahead to the Season

An opening win is certainly worth celebrating, and every player should be proud of their contribution. There will be new challenges, more opportunities to learn and plenty of football to enjoy as the season continues.
